Athletic Profile:
Since getting my first taste of Crossfit 18 months ago I have been hitting Crossfit workouts hard.
I competed in the Australasian Regional Qualifiers in April this year and placed 14th. Since then I’ve been addressing my weaknesses one step at a time, and still have a long way to go.
In August this year I won the Crossfit Brisbane Hardn’up Challenge and then in October I won the wounded Warrior meet at CFX Sydney. In 2010 I will be doing my best against the top Crossfit athletes from Australasia in the hope of winning an invitation to Crossfit Games in California.
Crossfit training and zone / paleo nutrition has taken my fitness to a level I previously thought not possible.
Prior to Crossfit I played Rugby Union seriously for 10 years. Career highlights include a QLD A in 2004 playing matches against international sides, First Grade with West Harbor in Sydney, First Grade with West Bulldogs in Brisbane, NSW Country as well as professional seasons Wales and Italy. I returned to Newcastle in 2006 and was part of the premiership winning Hamilton first grade side in 2008.

Coaching Profile:
I completed Crossfit Level 1 Certificate in February 2009. Since then I have been coaching 4-6 sessions a week at Crossfit Newcastle and loving it. Recently I have cut back my coaching a little and increased my training.
I have also recently completed my Crossfit Running Certificate and my Kettlebell instructor’s course.
I have the ability to get the best out of athletes and push them to go beyond their comfort zone.
I believe that it the most important part of my athletes performance is their intensity. The intensity they apply to achieve functional movement gains and the intensity they apply to maximizing their workload. I don’t care who wins the workouts I coach – I care about who pushes themselves the hardest.
